It's definitely fall!

We've been very busy this past week. I've been babysitting another little baby girl who is 11 weeks during the week full-time. Which I must dedicate more time to keeping both babies happy! But I did manage to make Cora's sock monkey costume, rake some leaves, carve a pumpkin, go trunk or treating, and a number of normal daily activities. So here are some snapshots of our week:

A sneak peek at the costume. I'll post more pictures with her wearing it and a before pic.

My little kitty cat.
Someone was sleepy after trick-or-treating!

The happy pumpkin I carved. I saved the seeds to try and roast em. We'll see how they turn out!

She loves playing outside in the leaves. Almost everyday this week, we've gone outside.

Look at that face!

The baby dedication at church. Cora was eating a cinnamon roll which she loved!

Dress shirt skirt

This is something I've been meaning to do for a while but just never did. So last night, I found one of Joel's old dress shirts and cut it up. We could donate it, but I thought maybe I could recycle it first. I found this tutorial online a while back. I'm not showing a tutorial, just my finished product. But the link to the tutorial is here.

Do I look smart reading my nook in a skirt? Lol.
I really love the color, so fallish!

If I thought about it, I wouldn't have sewn the arm holes shut, but made them pockets! Oh well.

I like the way it turned out. What do you think? The biggest difference was I didn't use the sleeves for the belt, but other than that, it was done the same way.

Eureka Springs/Branson Getaway

We just got back from a peaceful and adventurous extended weekend in the Ozark Mountain area. The first two days we were peaceful in a little cottage up in the mountains in a small but touristy town, Eureka Springs, AR. Ahh...miss it already. Then spent the weekend with some friends in Branson, MO going to Silver Dollar City. Joel and I have never been there so it was fun experience. So here are a few pictures of what we did:

My berry peachy smoothie while I a read a catalog in beautiful weather outside on a deck overlooking a creek in Eureka.

Since we didn't want to pay for parking and since the cottage very close to downtown, we had to walk up two sets of these stairs to get to the top of the mountain where the cottage was.

Humpty Dumpty!

Really neat building in a fork in the road.

An old man playing a violin.
A hotel on top of the mountains. Supposed to be one of the most haunted hotels in America. Still can stay in there and take haunted tours of which we did not. But this was the view just down the street from where we were staying.

Some of the foods we ate at Local Flavor Cafe. I had a Greek salad, which I guess means a whole bunch of colorful veggies with feta cheese. Actually really good! Joel had a lemon pepper chicken Caesar salad. Also yummy! And the prices were very reasonable.

Breakfast at Mud Street Cafe. Last time we were in Eureka, we ate here and I loved it so we HAD to go back. I had a wrap with eggs, veggies and cheese, and salsa. One of my favorite things about going on vacation is the food!
Afternoon in Branson, MO at the condo.

Playing some mini golf in the evening.

Joel was the only one to get a hole in one all night!

Joel, Bryce, and Jessica riding Wildfire. They're in the third row.
