Chili Face

We had chili for dinner last night...

...she kept rubbing her face...

...so it looked like this.

And of course smeared it every wear.

And I used my Christmas present and let it simmer all afternoon. Yummm.

Valentines Day

Yesterday I had three kids to watch, so we did a little painting craft. Joel and Cora also had a surprise for me when he got home.

The best painting she did with the brush was whacking it on the paper. She had a blast though.

We have lots of paints, but no acrylic! So I had to settle for water color, which I think worked better being less messy.

Tavia, all dressed in hearts for V-day.

Made it to the fridge so Daddy could see it when he got home.

Darius wasn't so sure about getting dirty at first. But he got into it!
In her V-day outfit and see what's in her ears?

Yeah, Joel put diamond earrings in her ears. Pretty nice gift for a little girl. Lol. They were actually for me, he was just trying to be sneaky. It only took me like 2 seconds to notice though.

Winter is finally here

So today was the day it finally looked like winter. I've been waiting all season for some snow. Cora was also fascinated with it.

Maybe just a few inches, but snow nonetheless!

Perfect packing snow.

She loved it. I wish I could've taken her out, but we're still fighting a cold.

spring flowers on a gloomy day

Joel brought home some flowers for me the other day. He usually gets roses, but I finally told him that I would prefer wild flowers rather then roses, unless it's Valentines Day or he is apologizing (doesn't happen that often btw). It's really sweet of him just to think about me and bring home flowers. I was surprised he didn't get roses! I just love how these brighten the room especially during the winter.

These boots are made for walking

Sometimes it's just about knowing people, that's how I got these boots for free! One of the mothers of a kid I babysit is the manager at a very popular shoe store. And sometimes she just gives me shoes. It just a nice surprise when she picks her son up some days.

Check out the name on the bag they came with! It was like it was meant to be.

Normally I wouldn't wear such a flashy style, but I actually like these. And you can't beat free!

How do you wrap it?

Whenever we go to PF Changs, which isn't very often, we always order the lettuce wraps. Which is amazing because my husband does not eat vegetables. So I was sooo excited when I found a recipe for these wraps online. I decided to try them out last night and they we SO good! The recipe can be found here.

Happy Birthday Husband!

So Joel's birthday was actually on Sunday, and I took him out, just the two of us, on Monday. On his birthday we had a Buffalo Wild Wings dinner with the family. But Monday morning, my in-laws came over to keep an eye on Cora, and Joel and I headed out for the day. We did a little shopping, he got a massage, I got a manicure, Chipotle for lunch, hit the batting cages, watched Underworld, and went to Kona Grill for happy hour. I know it seemed at first the day was more for me, but he wanted a new jacket and he loves massages. I don't like massages or Chipotle or bloody movies and I'm not athletic, but I did it for him. I snapped a few pictures of our day:

First time at the batting cages.

At Kona Grill.

Avocado egg rolls. Pretty good.

I can't believe how much better my nails look after getting a manicure. Definitely need to get em more often.
