Buena Vista!

We'll be home soon! Before we left, we wanted to see a little bit more of Colorado. So we took two days and drove two hours to Buena Vista, CO. We stayed in a cabin that Joel's boss kinda owns and let us borrow for a couple nights, for free. So awesome and thankful for that! The cabin was right up in the mountains, in between two huge peaks. It was gorgeous. As much as I'm ready to go home, I'll miss the serene beauty of CO.

The cabin was pretty big, on a horse ranch, a little outdated, and immune from modern technology. Meaning, we had no internet, no tv, and no cell phone service. We were dead to the world. So, we did a few puzzles, played games, and read books. It was nice to concentrate on family time for a couple days, but I sure did miss those conveniences!

But we really enjoyed being only a mile from some hot springs, and took advantage of that by swimming in them. Even though it snowed the day before and 40 degrees the next, it was soo relaxing and super warm that the cool air felt really nice. The water temp ranges from 94-105 degrees. Cora even enjoyed herself and has been asking to swim since.

View from the cabin window.

Lots of deer just hang out in the yard.

Had breakfast at this cute cafe.

We were right in between those two peaks.

The chalk cliffs by the cabin.

Pools of hot springs, warm water runs down the stream.

Investigating some rocks.

We did get a little sun burnt.
