From Scratch: Summer Tank

I was in the mood to make something that would fit me. It's summer so I also wanted something for the season. I looked through my stash of fabric and found a floral sheet that I knew I wasn't going to use for the bed. So I cut it up and stuck the pieces together. Well maybe a little more in depth than that. I was hoping to get it done in an evening but that didn't happen because I kept having issues with my sewing machine. Don't worry! I fixed it! Once that was figured out, I kept changing my mind on how I wanted it to look. Originally it was gonna be a dress but I decided I didn't like it and made it two separate pieces, the tank, and a skirt which I will post later.

I don't know how well you can see the straps, but I cut up an old shirt for it's lace then used it for the straps!
I also love how loose it fits. I don't like super tight clothes.

Here's a better picture of the back, and the lace I was talking about.

Zoo Day

I was pretty excited that today we took a trip to the zoo. Not only for Cora, I mean she won't remember at this age, but I love going to the zoo. Joel tagged along with sister-in-law, Adrienne, and nephew, Nolan. It was fun and perfect weather. The kiddos loved it too. Afterwards, we took a trip to Westport and ate at the Fleamarket Bar and Grill. It was good, but bring cash! (Doesn't accept plastic.) Anyways, here's a few photos to document our trip.

Belated Easter Post

I took some pictures of Cora for Easter myself because I didn't want to pay for them to get done. I had to improvise with what I had. She wasn't having it that day so I took tons of pictures trying to get one of her smiling. I got some, but I couldn't resist not deleting the crying/screaming one as well. She's just too cute even when she's crying.

My posts aren't as regular because I've been occupied with other things, and the office downstairs is in need of organization in order for me to function down there (where my craft area has moved). So Happy late Easter and promises of posts more current. :)

These are the ones I ended up using.

I had to keep this one, she was very much so done with pictures by then.

This one just cracks me up!

Enjoying the Evening

So I haven't posted anything in a while. I've been busy keeping up with other things. We're still trying to get everything organized downstairs. Yes, it's taking a lot longer than we intended. But FOR SURE by the end of the month. We're planning a party so we can make sure to finish it.

Anyways, with summer right around the corner, Joel has been able to use his grill. He LOVES to bbq. Now bbq isn't usually the best "healthy" meal. But we decided, what the heck, let's eat burgers! So he grilled up some burgers, and I made some potatoes. I love sweet potatoes, but Joel doesn't so I had to make him his hashbrowns. At least I got my super food in. It's so nice out, we even ate outside for the first time this season. It was great.
