a new high chair cushion

Today my mom and I went out to look for a few things. I wasn't really looking for anything, just hanging out with my mom helping her finds what she needed. Along the trip of stores, we stopped at a thrift store. Of coarse there were a few things I liked and got, all baby stuff too. The store was a little over priced. I'm sorry but I'm not gonna pay $10 for a used pair of shorts. But the few things I did get was a pretty good deal. One including a high chair. Yes I know Cora is now 7 months old and didn't have a high chair. I was using the booster seat I had. I couldn't find one I liked for a decent price. I happened to see this high chair crammed in between other crap. I immediately saw potential. It was grungy, dirty, old, and plain. I originally wanted a really nice wooden one that would match the rest of our furniture, but after 7 months of not finding what I wanted, I decided I could work with this. Heck! It was only $7. So I took it home, cleaned it up, and made a new cover for the cushion.

I didn't take pictures before I cleaned it, I forgot. But it was very icky.

There were rips and stains all over the cushion.

This is the after.

I happened to have fabric that I loved already.

I added a little bit more of fabric around the back to hold up the cushion better.

I also made it so it's removable. A must with a messy, eating baby so I can throw it in the wash.

It wasn't actually that hard to make because I just used the pattern from the original cover. I may make one or two more, so when I'm washing one I can use the other.
She looks so tiny in her new chair!

She definitely has a lot more room to bang her hands on the tray.
