I've mentioned before that I love thrifting. I was actually going to go today, but decided to go shopping in my closet. I went to the back of the closet, you know, the section of clothes that you never wear,or keep because you think you might wear but don't? Well I found an old dress from my high school days, and I knew I wasn't going to wear it again.First of all, it was too tiny, mostly in the upper area. Second, it's just not my style anymore. So I figured I could use it to my advantage and make something new with it that I can wear now.

This was actually going to be very simple project. No sewing required!
I just used a seam ripper and cut off the fabric for the bust. There was already elastic in the right place so I didn't need to add any. The ruffle in the front covered the area I cut, and you can't even tell!
The after product was a skirt I can wear in the spring or summer. I also found two more dresses I can do similarly. So exciting!
