What can I do with 2 yds of fabric: jewelry box

Wow what a busy weekend. Along with my sister-in-laws birthday, it was my grandpa's birthday as well. We went a bit out of town, about 1hr 15 min to roast some hot dogs in a bonfire (something that is a must do in our family), and also Cora's first bonfire experience. It was a little chilly so she was all bundled up. Too cute!

After we left there we went to Jessica's birthday party back in the other direction. I gave Jessica her birthday present yesterday and she liked it. Which is great! Now I can post what it looked like when I finished it. Jessica has recently been into jewelry making. I wanted to get her some items to go with it, including a plastic box. Boring. I wanted to style it up a bit and just thought of this!

I used the left-over fabric from the curtains. I measured the plain plastic box and cut the fabric.

I folded the fabric over and glued it on using bias tape on the inside.

After gluing the fabric on, I used some of the left-over ribbon with velcro to open and close the lid. Then added letters on top, which are actually stickers.

I did get her some jewelry-making items to go inside as well. All together, it took about half an hour.
